My Plate Runneth Over…with the Twist!!
I won a $1000 dollars worth of pizza today!!! Bernie Os Pizza Of North Muskegon Michigan had their one year anniversary contest going on today giving away the grand prize of ”free pizza for a year.” As luck would have it I was one of the winners!! This pie is not your $5 cardboard chain pizza, this fine pizza joint has a pizza recipe for all ages and tastes. Their award winning pizza is The Twist. This pizza sounds a little strange when reading the ingredients, but let me tell you it has a major “wow” factor when you try it. The owners of Bernie O’s are Adam and Heather Oliver and they traveled to the East coast with their signature pie and entered into the Pizza Today Magazines national pizza contest. It was voted 3rd out of over 30 entries. Their menu describes the Twist as follows.
The Twist-” In our quest to build the ultimate pizza, we put our heads together to figure out just what made food taste “good.” Turns out, it comes down to contrast and balance of flavors and textures. We tossed around different ideas & ingredients until we had the perfect pizza which we now call ” The Twist.” The result is a perfectly balanced combination of crispy & tart, cool and warm in every bite. Try one and see why it was voted Top 3 in the nation by Pizza Today Magazine. ”
The Twist is honey mustard sauce covered with our cheese blend, breaded chicken chunks & bacon strips. Finished after baking with fresh pineapple, tomato, yellow& jalapeno pepper, & homemade ranch.
So if you find yourself somewhere near Michigan it would be worth the drive to venture to Bernie O’s Pizza and get a taste of the one and only……. The Twist. Who knows you might see me there knee deep in my free pizza!!
