A New Years Tradition has been occurring in Michigan for over 20 years and that is the Sgt Preston Yukon Run. This run takes place every New Years morning and has a 5 k and a 10 k option. This year I registered and ran the 5k. It was the first time in my life that I have ever participated in a running race. I was amazed to how fast and what endurance the true runners displayed during this run. My shins provided problems for me along the way but I was able to walk off the pain for a few minutes and return to running. There was a record turnout of 390 particpants this year!!! So this starts off the New Year with a great cardio workout and now the goal is to keep it up on daily basis though I would be happy with 3 days a week.
