The Truth About Obama
This is a response that I wrote upon receiving the email listed at the bottom of this page from a vocal Republican businessman from the N Muskegon area. I will seek permission to print his name as the author of this email.

Its obvious whoever wrote/sent this inaccurate propaganda chain letter to you is a rank and file, right wing, extremist Republican, who supports the movement by spreading fear mongering and inaccuracies regarding Presidentail candidates not to their liking. Its laughable to think anyone would believe propaganda distributed by these groups. We could certianly start writing our own chain letters truthfully mentioning conservative historians have predicted George Bush will go down as one of our nations worst presidents in terms of his administrations foreign and domestic policies. We could go tit for tat and say Mitt Romney is a cult leader who hates Jesus and believes every man to be their own temple and that they deserve as many wives as they see fit. Or Mike Huckabee is a Southern Babtist minister who will declare the Babtist faith as the official religous faith in America if elected. We all know that this would not be the case, though some would argue. Remember these are the same war mongers that claimed Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, and went on violating almost every aspect of our Constitution pursuing their failed agendas. This failed administration and it supporters bear the responsibility of almost 4000 dead Americans, over 100,000 dead innocent Iraqi women and children, tens of thousands of maimed American soldiers.
Upon visiting Snopes.Com as this letter mentions I was pleasantly surprised to learn the truth about Mr. Obama. I suggest you visit the link below to Snopes website as you will find this chain letter is listed by Snopes as being proven false and contains very distorted facts regarding Mr. Obamas past. The oath on the Koran story is a outright lie as well as many other statements.
Mr. Obama very well may have the will and background that will enable him to promote and provide greater world peace, not to mention much needed unity within our own country. Its high time that ”change” occurs in this great country.
Rather than spreading rumors and inaccuracies (as was done by the Hitler led SS party), I suggest we focus our energies on ending the war in Iraq, ending unfair trade agreements, ending the unchecked spending practices of the corporate controlled Executive and Legislative branches of our federal government, end corporate welfare, prosecute the thousands of corporate offshore bank account holders that cheat the US taxpayers out of millions, secure our borders, end the trap of social welfare through education and back to work initiative programs, preserve Social Security, fast track our nations focus on alternative fuel sources rather than depending on the forever troublesome foreign oil. (Just for starters!!)
If this can’t be handled by either party…. I suggest the formation of a new party …The American Progressive Party.

Thank-you for your posting and your observation. You make a good point as I did fail to mention the sender of this original email is a longtime (Republican) friend of mine who I have known to be a bit radical in his politics and daily life. Keep the comments coming and take me to task when neccessary. BTW I discovered a very interesting site as I was reading your email

‘Well,’ said the man, ‘you don’t know where you are or where you are going.
You’ve risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made
a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your
problem. You’re in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but,
somehow, now it’s my fault.’
I like your comment about not “spreading rumors and inaccuracies” in the last paragraph; considering your presumed lack of definitive evidence substantiating this originated from a Republican as you state in the first sentence.
