Beer Tent Capital Of the World
Its official!!! Muskegon is now officially the beer tent capital of the world according to Wikipedia. I was surprised that this claim to fame is now recognized on a world level. Muskegon had its own brewery from the late 1800s to the middle of the 1900s. Muskegon beer tents are quit popular in the summer and there is one just about every weekend from early summer through late fall. Muskegons beer tent image is certainly controversial but as a frequent attendant of beer tents and fetivals I think they are a great benefit to the community as well as source of much needed funds for non profits in the area. I am hopeful the Muskegon Brewing Company on Pine St gets up and running, however I have heard mixed reports that they may not pursuing the project any longer. If you ahve any information plesae let me know. I am also interested in learning if there are any homebrew supply beer stores in the Muskegon area. If you know of one please leave a post.
